A grunge anthem meets the undead in this irreverent conceptual portrait inspired by Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. What began as a giggle-filled idea turned into a full-blown zombie cheerleader photo shoot—complete with severed-head pompoms and a haze of nostalgia.
What started as my daughter’s love of mushrooms became Mushroom World — a fantasy portrait built in Blender and Photoshop. This Portrait Story dives into the technical chaos, the creative spark, and the lessons I carried forward into world-building.
Portrait Stories is my ongoing series blending photography and storytelling. In “Butterfly,” I revisit Crazy Town’s iconic song and album art, transforming it into a music-inspired portrait. From broken gear and a reluctant teenage assistant to lost files and hard-won lessons, this favourite image became both a challenge and a triumph.
