When I was challenged to create a conceptual self-portrait series around the word embrace, I expected to explore ideas of love, family, or belonging. Instead, the work led me somewhere unexpected—to death, change, fate, and darkness. This series reflects on what happens when we stop resisting the parts of life we cannot avoid and begin to embrace them instead.
